Anahata School of Yoga and Mindful Movement is an RYS-200 (RYS stands for “Registered Yoga School”). What it means is that our faculty’s qualifications and the syllabus for our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training have been evaluated by the Yoga Alliance and are in compliance with their standards for such training programs.
If you complete our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program and receive your certificate, you may choose to become an RYT-200 (RYT stands for “Registered Yoga Teacher”) with the Yoga Alliance. You are not required to do that, it is an option available to our graduates.
If you don’t register with the Yoga Alliance, you may still promote yourself as a teacher with 200 hours of training, but you may not use the term “RYT-200”.
You can learn more about the Yoga Alliance itself, their standards for Yoga Schools and Yoga Teachers on their website here. You can find our school’s public profile in the Yoga Alliance RYS directory here.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the time commitment for this training?
The program consists of seven 2-day modules (8 hours each) running on Saturdays and Sundays over the course of 7 months. Each module’s sessions start at 9:00 am and finish at 5:00 pm.
There is another 3-hour monthly group meeting each month between the modules (total of 6 meetings) dedicated to posture clinics, deeper study and integration of the previous module’s material and discussion. These meetings run on Friday nights from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
The program also includes some hours of mandatory yoga class experience (as an observer/teacher’s assistant and/or as a student) over the course of 7 months of training, and some hours of independent study and research time.
What is the cost of the program?
The program offers two pricing options:
Pay as You Go – $395/Module (your total cost of training will be $2,765.00 plus books): this pricing option allows you to pay for the training in 7 installment payment plan, $395 each. Once you submit the first payment, the rest of the payments run automatically every 30 days from the date of first payment. This pricing option includes workbooks for the course (manuals) and does NOT include required reading (books). You will have to purchase the books yourself from outside vendors prior to each module. Some books are available at our studio store, and can be purchased at 10% off cover price once you enroll in the program. In our training program, “Module” is a 2-day training weekend and a 3-hour practicum following that weekend.
Complete Training – $2,500 plus books: this pricing option includes the cost of 7 modules paid in advance and is a lower total cost compared to Pay As You Go option above. This pricing option includes workbooks for the course (manuals) but does NOT include required reading (books). You will have to purchase the books yourself from outside vendors prior to each module. Some books are available at our studio store, and can be purchased at 10% off cover price once you enroll in the program.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Please see the “Pay As You Go” payment option above.
Send us an e-mail or fill out the Contact Us form here if you have any questions about the payment plan.
When is the payment due?
Payments are due at the time you sign up for the training. Depending on the payment option you choose, you will be required to submit full payment (see “Complete Training” payment option above) or the first installment of the payment plan (Pay as you Go payment option above) when you sign up for the course. All payments are final and non-refundable.
How many students are in class?
We pride ourselves in being able to give individual attention to each student in this training program by keeping our classes small. This year we’re only accepting 6 students into the program. This allows our trainers to give everyone in class attention and face time with teachers that they deserve.
